Source: World Bank. Only countries with data for both selected years are shown. Percentage change is (new − old) / |old| × 100. For indicators already expressed as percentages, the absolute difference is shown in percentage points. GDP in current US dollars is not inflation-adjusted. Historical density uses present-day country area.
How to explore changes between countries
Choose an indicator and two years to compare changes across countries with available observations for both years. Sort the results to explore the largest increases or decreases, or narrow the list by continent and country.
The data comes from the World Bank. Publication dates and coverage vary by indicator and country, so the latest available year may differ. Changes in indicators already expressed as percentages should be interpreted carefully: a difference in percentage points is not the same as a relative percentage change.
